Directions : Come into Donegal Town Centre, take the Killybegs Road, drive 200 yards and take the first road to right, sign posted for Ard na Breatha and Lough Eske etc. Continue on this road until you come to VIVO shop, turn sharp right, go straight ahead for approx. half a mile, under the bypass, Ard na Breatha is at the top of the hill. Three minutes drive from Donegal Town.

 
 

Ard na Breatha Guesthouse and Restaurant is perfectly situated in close proximity to Donegal Town, where guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside in a location convenient to the main tourist artery of County Donegal, just two minutes from The Mill Park, The Abbey and Central Hotels, and five minutes from Harvey's Point Country Hotel.

The Guest rooms, situated on the site of an old barn, are linked to the Restaurant by a covered walkway thus ensuring utmost privacy for Residents. Rooms are furnished with traditional pine furniture and wrought iron beds, all are en-suite with bath, telephone, hairdryer, T.V. and Tea/Coffee making facilities. Visitors may wake up to the sound of birdsong, and the gentle splashing of water in the courtyard pond outside their bedroom window.


Following a refreshing sleep, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast buffet of fruit juices, cereals, home made breads, yogurts, fresh fruit, and a choice of cheeses. For those with a good appetite why not start the day with a full Irish breakfast, or try the house specialty of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

County Donegal offers some of the best Golfing in Ireland ranging from Portsalon to Gweedore and on to Murvagh, many of which host Golf Open weekends or Golf Tournaments. Take advantage of breathtaking routes for hill-walking cycling and horse-riding - the multifarious hues and tints of the Bluestack mountains surround Lough Eske which is two miles North of Donegal Town. This area provides the rambler with hidden delights at every turn. Moving North an ascent up either side of Barnesmore Gap will offer an unparalleled view of the whole of the North-West, looking well into Counties Tyrone and Fermanagh.
