Bear Essentials is owned by Anke Morgenroth, originally from Germany. Anke and her husband fell in love with Ireland and decided to raise their family in the beautiful countryside of County Cavan. Anke grew up in Germany, where the Teddy Bear tradition is very strong and this has influenced her own hand-crafted mohair bears.
Her new collection of limited edition traditional bears make a perfect gift for a child or a serious collector. Products include: Artist Bears, Steiff, Gund and Russ Bears, bear accessories, wildlife animals and other soft toys, porcelain dolls, rag dolls, candles, jewellery, funky scarves, baby comforters, cards, local photography, local paintings and lots of other handmade gifts of exceptional quality and distinctive design.
Whilst in the area you can take part in Teddy Bear making classes or watch as a bear is being created. Take this opportunity to design and make your own heirloom. Then relax outside, if weather permits or walk around the garden.
Our Easter, Summer and Halloween classes for children and teenagers have reached great popularity over the past years. Imagine kids as young as seven years of age making their own Collector Teddy Bear - they are being very adventurous in designing extraordinary outfits. Adult and parent classes are also available.
