Programme
Friday Arrive at your accommodation between 4.00pm and 9.00pm. If staying at Drumenagh Brae have dinner at one of a wide choice of restaurants in the nearby town of Magherafelt. If staying at Woodburn House you are a five minute walk from the centre of Antrim.
Saturday 09.30am – 5.00pm
After breakfast, you’ll set off from Ballyronan Marina under the safe and capable guidance of John Hubbucks, a Level 4 Coach for both Kayaking & Canoeing orone of his experienced team members. This is their life long passion and now is your chance to share that! You’ll start off with tuition then take to the Lough.
All the equipment is provided; boat, buoyancy aid, spray deck, paddle & helmet. There’s no need for any special kit for this course, all you need to do is turn up in comfortable clothing and bring an old pair of trainers and a light jacket like a peterstorm, with a change of clothes in case you get wet. Of course, if you have your own wetsuit, gear or equipment, you are welcome to bring those too.
Evening Return to accommodation. Spend your evening in with the restaurants and pubs of Magherafelt or Antrim, just a short drive or walk from your accommodation.
Sunday Depart by 11.00am.
11.00am-1pm Return to the Lough for a final morning’s canoeing.

Mobile Team Adventure was set up by John Hubbucks in 2005. It is built on a sturdy foundation of life experience; over fifteen years in management and a passion for the outdoors. John has many qualifications including Level 4 Kayak & Open Boat Canadian Canoe Coach and all MTA staff are trained and qualified to National Standards in relation to their field and are highly experienced. All are qualified in First Aid and are trained in Child Protection. All equipment used by MTA goes through regular and vigorous checks to ensure high standards for your protection and safety.
Drumenagh Brae 31 Ballynagarve Road, Ballyronan, Co. Londonderry
Drumenagh Brae offers modern accommodation with a high degree of comfort, and a central location in the heart of Northern Ireland. Located less that a mile from the shores of Lough Neagh and Ballyronan village. Ballyronan features a modern purpose build marina.
Two Double rooms with en-suite facilities and one family room (double with single and cot if required) with exclusive use of separate luxury Jacuzzi bathroom. All rooms have central under floor heating, solid oak floors. Room services include, colour TV, hairdryer, a range of fine toiletries and hospitality tray featuring a choice of hot beverages and a selection of biscuits.
Your hosts, Alastair and Alison Scott-McKinley, are themselves keen canoeists and, as well as their warm welcome, they will be eager to chat over your weekend’s adventures.

You can be assured of a peaceful stay in a homely atmosphere at Woodburn House, which has recently been renovated and decorated to a very high standard.
Centrally located for business and leisure woodburn House is within 5 minutes walk of Antrim town centre and 5 minutes drive of Belfast International Airport and Dunadry. Only 25 minutes drive from Belfast town centre, 2 hours drive from Dublin city centre and a 60 minute drive from the picturesque North Coast, taking the scenic route.
Originally built around 1920 in the Art Deco era, Woodburn House is situated in a quiet residential area of Antrim, with its own spacious grounds and gardens. Comfortable rooms are spacious and therefore very versatile, tastefully decorated with en-suite showers.
