FOLLOWING COLUMCILLE Tuesday Turas
Share the sites and stories of events, teachings and symbols of Columcilles life in the counties of Sligo and Donegal.
The main quest from Spring equinox until Autumn equinox will be to visit Inishmurray Island. This is subject to sensitive weather conditions but a visit there is priceless and something youll treasure for life.
After a tour of the sites and pilgrim stations, the Inishmurray turas, either share stories within Tory Bhrennel, the large clochaun, or outside within the Cashel on a warm sunny day.
If landing on Inishmurray island is not possible, but weather is reasonable, travel right on to Glencolumbkille and walk the Turas trail, a spiritual area related to both Columcille and pre-Christian Ireland. Alternatively, visit Gartan, Columcilles birthplace, with a wonderful heritage centre and spiritual sites. The choice will be a majority vote from the group.

FOLLOWING THE TUATHA DE DANNAN Wednesday Turas:
The "fairy tale" legends of the Tuatha De Dannan intrigue everyone. They are the inspiration to many writings, especially Tolkein's Lord Of The Rings.
A day of visiting sites becomes a day of re-enacting Irish legends and exploring Irish druidism before its marriage with early Christianity.
Explore various hidden and intriguing sites within Moytura, an area around the beautiful lakes of Lough Arrow and Lough Key. If weather is good or reasonable this will also include a visit to the Caves of Ceis (Keash) where we'll share some stories during a packed lunch in the largest cave. Later drink from a nearby bubbling spring well.

MYSTERY TOUR Thursday Turas:
A little bit daring and fun. Visits will usually be to sites not covered by the other tours and often into counties not visited by the other tours. There will usually be a link to a major Irish writer or musician and even include performances. Tours will focus on the majority interests of the travellers on the day, but still be a surprise.
