The facilities available at the lodge are impressive. There is the wooden-floored lounge, perfect for sitting, talking and relaxing with a drink before dinner in front of the wood burning stove.
A housekeeper and a baby sitter can be arranged for you upon request. There is a fully fitted, modern kitchen. A separate utility room has washing machine and tumble dryer.
There are three bedrooms at Trinity Island Lodge, two of these have the benefit of en-suite bathrooms with power showers. There is also a further bathroom that has a Jacuzzi bath. Another feature is the sauna, great to retreat to after a day's travelling or fishing on the lake. The lodge is kept comfortably warm with full central heating. Linen and towels are provided.
Trinity Island Lodge is now eco friendly. The electricity is generated by 12 solar panels and a 1 Kw wind turbine, there is also a 12 Kw diesel generator as stand by. A wood pellet stove heats the central heating and in the living there is a stove which burns wood gathered from the island
In summer many pleasant evenings are spent on the Panoramic viewing deck which offers great views of the surrounding lakes. There is a large barbecue for al fresco meals on the viewing deck. There is also a small herb garden. Most families also spend time in the Games room.
Motorised boats and canoes are available for fishing or exploring the many lakes and the river Erne. There are four miles of private nature walks, bird-watching and the island has foxes and its own family of badgers.
Killeshandra itself is a small village with shops, medical facilities and three restaurants which is surrounded by small lakes. Interestingly, four miles to its north, lived the ancestors of the poet, Edgar Allen Poe. Cavan town is 25 minutes away with restaurants,golf, bicycle hire, a swimming pool, gym/health club, squash, tennis and many restaurants. A 40 minute drive brings you to Enniskillen and theatre, cinemas, attractions and more restaurants.
Heating oil will be charged according to use and is payable directly to the owner.
