If peace and tranquillity are what you are looking for, the aptly-named Mountain View cottage makes an ideal choice. A private country lane leads to this charming cottage which is tucked away in beautiful countryside just a couple of miles outside Blacklion and Dowra.
Around 150 years old, Mountain View cottage was the former homestead of the Fitzpatrick family and a homely atmosphere is very much apparent throughout the cottage. There is a patio area to sit outside and enjoy the magnificent views over the countryside.
Downstairs is a porch, living room, kitchen, dining room and bathroom. The living room has a wood-burning stove, tile floor and beams and TV/DVD/CD player. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, fridge, washer/dryer, iron and ironing board.
Upstairs are three double bedrooms. Bedrooms 1 and 2 have double beds and Bedroom 3 has a double and a single bed and leads off Bedroom 2. The rooms are nicely and simply furnished in keeping with the cottage style. There is plenty of storage space. The Ccottage has central heating.
Towels and linen, firewood and coal are included. Electricity is paid with a coin meter. Cottage rental also includes the use of a fishing boat with engine - you only need to pay for the petrol you use.
Mountain View makes a convenient base for exploring the North West. A short drive takes you to Sligo, Belleek and Donegal. Marble Arch caves and Enniskillen are half an hour away. Dowra village is five minutes drive away and has a mini supermarket, two further shops, a post office and pubs. It is a ten minute drive to Lough MacNean and the villages of Blacklion and Belcoo with restaurants, pubs and shops.
